How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My music magazine is aimed at Flo who I used in my target audience evaluation earlier in my blog. To do this I've had to choose
colour schemes, artists, locations and selected relevant items and images to place in my magazine to suit this social group. I have included artists such as Calvin Harris and also made up my own Bands and artists as they appeal to my target audience.
I’ve chosen uni-sex colours so that both sex’s appeal to the magazine.

By having the main artists hand in the ‘Rock’ sign means that it will appeal to more indie/rock social groups rather than a social group who listens to rap.
This is also shown by having an image of a man with a Red Mohican with a studded necklace and a nose ring. All of theses things help show which social group my magazine is targeted to.

I have decide not to put disabled people into my magazine as I want to show my audience a sort of fantasy that they can loos themselves in and this is shown by the images. Also I feel that people wouldn’t buy the magazine as much because they wouldn’t fit into the genre of music or the social group they was looking for.
For the age concern I think that ive made more of an Older Teenager/Older audience. I wanted to reach out to an older audience because I feel that they would appreciate the content of the magazine more than a younger audience.

Though I’ve said a lot that I wanted my magazine to fit into a certain social group I have not made the magazine genre too strong and have also put in there things like ‘Man of the week’ and also news form other genre’s of music.
